KaoliArtについて
KaoliArt は、和紙や折り紙など日本の素材を用いて、作品制作とワークショップを行うアート活動です。
連鶴、和紙の花、和のアクセサリー、和紙あかりなど、紙が持つぬくもりと静かな美しさを生かしながら、
「静けさ」「つながり」「心の余白」を大切に、日々制作しています。

KaoliArt is an art practice that creates works and offers workshops using Japanese materials such as washi and origami.
Through renzuru (connected cranes), washi flowers, Japanese-inspired accessories, and washi lighting,
I explore the warmth of paper and its quiet beauty—expressing stillness, connection, and gentle space for the heart.
✿ はじまり
2014年、三重県桑名市の「桑名の千羽鶴」との出会いをきっかけに、
和紙を用いた連鶴作品の制作を始めました。
一枚の紙から複数の鶴が連なって生まれる造形の美しさ、
そして魯洪庵義堂がそれぞれの作品に名前と狂歌を添えて残したという文学的な側面にも強く惹かれました。
さらに、和紙の多様な色柄や質感、素材としての豊かさに魅了され、
これをきっかけに日本文化全般への関心も深まっていきました。
日本に生まれたことへの感謝の気持ちとともに、
和のこころを感じる作品づくりを続けています。
✿ Beginning
In 2014, I encountered the traditional art of “Kuwana no Senbazuru” in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture.
This meeting inspired me to begin creating renzuru works using Japanese washi paper.
I was deeply drawn to the beauty of the form—multiple cranes emerging from a single sheet of paper—
and also to its literary aspect: the Edo-period monk Rokōan Gidō gave each design a name and accompanied it with a kyōka (playful classical poem).
At the same time, I discovered the richness of washi—its variety of colors, patterns, and textures—
which led my interest to expand into Japanese culture as a whole.
With gratitude for having been born in Japan,
I continue creating works that express the quiet spirit and aesthetic of Japanese tradition.
作品について
現在は、連鶴をはじめ、実用的な折り紙作品、和紙の花、和のアクセサリー、和紙あかりなど、
和紙の魅力を生かした多様な表現に取り組んでいます。
作品には、日々の暮らしの中に「そっと整う時間」や「余白」が生まれることを願っています。
Works
Today my work includes renzuru, practical origami objects, washi flowers, Japanese-inspired accessories, and washi lighting.
Through these pieces, I hope to bring a quiet moment of balance and gentle space into everyday life.
ワークショップについて
当ブースや各イベントでは、初心者の方でも楽しめるワークショップを開催しています。
折る・つくる時間そのものが、心を整えるひとときとなるように。
完成した作品は、暮らしの中で飾ったり、贈り物としても楽しんでいただけます。
Workshops
I also offer workshops that are welcoming for beginners.
I hope the making process itself becomes a calming, centering experience.
Finished pieces can be enjoyed in everyday life—decorated at home or shared as gifts.
ユニット活動
樋川さなえ先生とのユニット 「はんなりorigami工房」 としても活動しています。
イベント出展やワークショップを通して、和紙と折りの魅力をより多くの方へお届けしています。
Unit Activity
I also work as a unit called “Hannari Origami Studio” with Sanae Hikawa.
Through exhibitions and workshops, we share the charm of washi and paper-folding with a wider audience.
